AZ STATE: Summer Heat Cheer Throwdown

State Competition 2024***

Open to all summer athletes and teams!



While at the event, athletes will stay with their coach and teammates the entire time.  Additional (pre-selected) Parent Helpers/Adults will be assisting the coach with the team(s).  As a standard with our program attention to safety of students will be a top priority!

Below is a review of event flow for your understanding.



Upon parking, parents will take their athlete to check-in at the designated athlete check-in/drop-off area (follow the caution tape).  Athletes will go to the cafeteria (holding area) with their coach and parent helpers to prepare for their warm-up.

Athletes will proceed to their warm-up which will take place in the small gym.

From here coaches will lead athletes to the Main Gym performance floor for their PERFORMANCE!

Post performance athletes will be awarded their participation medals on the mat for all their in person FANS!


After all teams have competed, Awards will take place on the main floor.  When each team has received their placement and pin, coaches will escort the team out to the pick-up area on the W. side of the main gym.


Parents will still meet their athlete at pick-up under their assigned TENT (A,B,C,D,E).


FOR PARENTS/SUPPORTERS: *limit 5 per athlete

Once athletes have been dropped off, parents/spectators will line-up outside the Main Gym in the holding cue for gym admittance.
Supporters will be able to watch their athlete and team perform in person (small crowd) inside.

Once all teams from the location have performed coaches will escort the team out to the pick-up area on the W. side of the main gym.  Parents will pick-up under their assigned TENT (A,B,C,D,E).



Please only arrive to the drop-off area at your designed location/team time.  We will be running the event according to our schedule so please be on time.


All athletes will earn an exclusive STATE cheer medal & will be competing for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & runner-up placements in their division and category!

*Awards will be HELD in the Main Gym-Center Stage DAY OF!



Participant Requirements:

- All participants are REQUIRED to:

  • Wear their ACTIVSTARS team uniform for the event. 
  • Have their team poms as well as white tennis shoes/sneakers.

- If you do not have a team uniform or poms, CLICK HERE to shop for yours!
*Don't forget orders can take up to 7 business days to arrive, so order early!

What to Bring:

IMPORTANT:  Please DO NOT send athletes with jackets, bags, cell phones, personal items, or water bottles for this event.  (We will have water on site.)  

**Upon event check-in, athletes MUST be performance ready with their poms in hand, to expedite the check-in process.

Students must be equipped with

  • Team Uniform
  • Black Bloomers/Shorts (worn under skirt)
  • Poms
  • Bow
  • White Cheer Style Tennis/athletic Shoes
  • Special Team Props (if applicable)

Spectator Rules of Conduct:

This is a Small Crowd in-person event.

Each athlete CAN have up to 4 Spectators supporting.  

*Paying Spectators are any persons ages 9 and older

*Kids 8 and younger can enter with an adult
