AZ Champs Tryouts 18-19 Season

Written by

We are excited to announce our plan for AZ Champs Teams  - Eclipse (level 6) & Essence (level 7) tryouts...

Tryouts will consist of 2 rounds, the first held in MAY!  Athletes making it through “round 1” of tryouts will be invited to practice & train this summer in true “CHAMPS” style with upper level stunting, conditioning, tumbling and technique progression.

Then, in August we will have “round 2” of tryouts for FINAL team placements for AZ Champs Eclipse & AZ Champs Essence teams for the regular 18-19 Cheer Season!  We encourage all current Pro, Elite and other experienced cheer athletes to participate in our “Round 1” May tryout!

Pro & Elite athletes who are currently on a Nationals team, are still eligible to tryout ~ training for the summer will begin on Tuesday, June 5th & continue on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. through July. ($12 fee/practice) *We will work with individual athletes on any scheduling conflicts.*

NOW is the TIME to grow, train and PUSH your skills to the next level, we  BELIEVE you have what it takes, but how will we know if you never try?!  As an athlete we challenge YOU to try something new, get out of your comfort zone and give CHAMPS a try, you have everything to GAIN!

These two teams competes at outside “All Star USASF” Cheerleading Competitions here in the valley as well as in other States, such as California, throughout the season!  These teams also represent Arizona at NYAA Cheer Nationals during the summer (July 2019).  In addition, these teams also performs at local ACTIVSTARS special events - showcases, clinics & State as well as professional team venues, such as a Phoenix Suns Game, in addition to other GREAT performance opportunities & platforms TO SHINE through out the season!

*Tryouts are open to ANY current - PRO, or ELITE, ACTIVSTARS athlete.  *Cheerleaders from other Jr. High, High School or outside Cheer gyms (All-Star or Rec.), or an athlete with  previous cheer experience; are also welcome and encouraged to tryout if they have the stunting & cheer experience required. (equivalent to our PRO team level)

*FEMALE & MALE ATHLETES ARE URGED TO TRYOUT*

*TUMBLING:  We are looking for “athletes who can tumble” - at least 50% of this year’s team will be chosen based on tumbling ability/skill.  Stunting knowledge and openness to trying new positions will also be a factor.  However, athletes who may not have tumbling yet are still urged to tryout— plan to start taking a tumbling class now to work on your skills!

Cheer Team Uniforms

Written by

The ACTIVSTARS Cheer Program Uniforms are stylish and current yet they are also durable, comfortable and long-lasting.  Every cheerleader wants to feel like an athlete when they take the floor to perform, having a great uniform on completes the look and feel of a cheerleader!  Let your SPIRIT shine!

With our NEW team uniform design and look we know that you want your athlete to have her/his "perfect" fit.

We have put together a sizing char to assist you with sizing your student.  Please review the attached PDF.

UNIFORM CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

It is VERY important to always wash your team uniform correctly to keep it looking top notch for performance day.

Washing Instructions:  Cheer uniforms need to be washed in COLD water with NO bleach to maintain the quality of the logo/design and fabric color.

We also recommend for uniforms to be air dried on a hanger and not placed in the dryer.
